Fireworks in Lymington and Pennington 2011

October 11th, 2011

We look forward to another amazing fireworks day. This year the organiser is Eddie Haffenden assisted by John Conway. Our aim is to provide a safe low cost display which means that families can enjoy a really good evening and hope that their children will be happy with the show and not want a show at home where safety can be a concern. As usual our own Pyrotechnist Graham Butler will be masterminding the display. Gates open at 6.00 on November 5th and tickets only £4 per adult (16 and over) and just £2 for a child.

See you there

Fireworks

October 7th, 2009

Every year The Rotary Club of Lymington have a firework display on Pennington Recreation Ground thanks to the Town Council. Our main objective is to give families an inexpensive and good evening out which is SAFE. Every many children get injured playing with fireworks and we hope that our display will satisfy the need to see fireworks and hear some really LOUD bangs. Graham Butler is our pyrotechnist (firework letteroff) and always gives a really good display. Keith Cromer looks after the music and may put on a film show before the fireworks. There are childrens entertainments and of course hot dogs, bacon butties and the like.

Safety is always an issue and for that reason alchohol, sparklers and fireworks may not be brought in.

Parking is free on Pennington Common.

Pacific Disaster

October 7th, 2009

Rotarian Eddie Haffenden was quick off the mark as usual and put the buzz around the club.  Graham Wales went up to the NFDC to obtain a licence for a street collection. They were really helpful and armed with the licence Eddie was on the street on his crutches. Waitrose have given permission for Rotarians to collect outside the store – no more than two at time. So if you see a Rotarian shivering in the rain pop a fiver in his/her tin.

We want to collect for shelter boxes. President Janet Durrant has already pressed the button for one to be sent so come Lymington, Pennington and Milford let’s raise a £1000 ans send two!

What is a shelter box. It’s everything for a family of ten to live, tent, bowls, spoons, sleeping bags, water carrier, water purifier, stove etc etc. Follow the link on our web site
